The Currituck Club
The only golf course community on the northern beaches, the centerpiece of The Currituck Club is the semi-private 18-hole Rees Jones golf course which winds along the Currituck Sound and throughout this 600 acre neighborhood. This gated community boasts its own driving range, Pro Shop, members’ lounge and dining services housed in a spectacular 11,000 sq.ft. Clubhouse. In addition to the complete golf experience there is a fitness center with weight room, community pools and tennis courts throughout, a tennis academy, basketball, volleyball, bocce ball and miles of jogging paths. Several trolleys also operate in the peak months bringing owners and guests from each home to their desired community destination. The Currituck Club also has its own private beach access at the south entrance of the community. Here guests can take advantage of the valet service to the beach, rent umbrellas and chairs or stop by the Surf Shack for anything you may need for a relaxing day at the beach.
Corolla Light
Corolla Light is an ocean to sound community with a range of popular amenities to please all ages. The Oceanfront Complex features several community pools, poolside dining at the Clubhouse Cafe, arcade room, basketball courts, volleyball courts, putting green, shuffleboard and playground. Summer brings a host of planned activities such as sandcastle building contests, crabbing, athletic tournaments, bingo and karaoke. A Corolla Light highlight is the Richard A. Brindley Sports Center which has an Olympic size indoor swimming pool, clay tennis courts, racquetball court, walleyball court, a weight room, cardio-room, jacuzzi and saunas. The Sports Center also offers yoga, and pilates classes as well as tennis lessons. The Soundside Pool complex overlooks the sound near the nature trail and a community trolley service offers easy transportation throughout the neighborhood.
Buck Island
The Oceanside community of Buck Island is a quaint upscale neighborhood with a mixture of Charleston style homes and larger custom homes. Walking paths allow for a quick bike ride or walk to the private beach access, community pool, tennis courts and playground. Centrally located across the street from the Tim Buck II shopping complex, Buck Island is a popular choice those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the beach and all of the conveniences all within walking distance.
Pine Island
The Pine Island neighborhood is located on the narrow stretch of land between the Atlantic Ocean and the protected Pine Island Audubon Sanctuary. This Oceanside community with plenty of ocean access along its miles of beaches also has an Oceanside community pool and picnic area, playground and privileges at the prominent Pine Island Tennis and Racquet Club. This upscale community is connected by a network of jogging paths and even includes a nature trail through the sanctuary.
